Design and Tile Selection
The cornerstone of the entire renovation was the tile selection. To achieve a sense of expansive calm, we recommended large-format, square, light grey marble-look porcelain tiles for the floor and walls. This choice was strategic. The large size means fewer grout lines, creating a seamless, continuous look that makes the room feel larger. Above, a large mirror cabinet was mounted, serving a dual purpose: it reflects light and the view from the window, further amplifying the sense of space, while hiding away everyday clutter. Integrated LED lighting under this cabinet provides perfect, shadow-free illumination for grooming tasks, a small detail with a significant impact on functionality.
Waterproofing and Layout
In any bathroom renovation, the wet area is non-negotiable in terms of both design and technical execution. The layout placed an elegant white bathtub and the shower next to each other along one wall, maximising efficiency. The freestanding bathtub sits beneath a window that spans the entire width of the bathroom, flooding the area with natural light while offering a private view of the sky. For privacy, sleek grey blinds were installed that complement the tile colour perfectly.
The shower is separated from the rest of the room by a frameless glass screen. This clear glass panel maintains the open, uninterrupted sightlines we worked hard to create, preventing the space from being chopped up visually. Inside, the shower niche isn’t just a practical addition for shampoo bottles; we integrated subtle LED lighting within it. This clever feature adds a layer of luxury and ambience, especially for evening showers. Similarly, a dedicated niche with lighting between the bathtub and the window creates a perfect spot for candles or bath oils.
